Paramount and Parkes / MacDonald introduced the development of techno-thriller called Daemon, based on the novel publishing phenom Daniel Suarez.
Walter Parkes and Laurie MacDonald will produce the project, which centers on the landmark game designer who, before he died, a program to deal with the study of the history of mankind and the ensuing man-versus-fighting machine.
A daemon is a computer program that runs without the direct control of the person.
Continuation of the book entitled "Freedom" is also in the works, and was acquired by Dutton.
